Marietta, GA
200 rooms, 25,000 sq. ft. cc (4 Diamond)
SENTRY Hospitality was selected over 15
conference center competitors to become the developer and
operator of the Marietta Conference Center & Resort. SENTRY
oversaw the development and construction of the 200 room project,
completing the project one month under schedule as well as
$1 million under budget.
In addition, SENTRY successfully operated
the project to a 4 Diamond operating level every year under
its management. As a public-owned entity, the mission of the
Downtown Marietta Development Authority changed from one of
owner to that of lesser preferring a leaseback arrangement
which did not follow the core mission of SENTRY’s company
objectives. Subsequently, SENTRY and DMDA parted on favorable
terms with the project moving into a lease situation and SENTRY
being financially rewarded for its achievements.
